RESOLUTIONS...
John Mayer: "If you want love, then make it..."
My Mormon Translation: "Home Can Be A Heaven On Earth..."
ummmm... that sounds a lot more naughty then I intended it to be... hahah
I am just a firm believer in the phrase...
"Choose your love, Love your choice"
I love the little book by F. Burton Howard.
Eternal Marriage & the Parable of the Silverware.
In it, Howard compares his eternal marriage to some silverware his wife had.
The silverware was so special, it was rarely used, but still she spent time every year,
year after year, to polish it and care for it.
Howard says," if you want something to last forever, you treat it differently.
It becomes special because you have made it so."
I believe in the importance of remembering to serve our spouse every day... though it is something I definitely need to work on!!!
John Mayer: "I wanna run through the halls of my High School
I wanna scream at the top of my lungs
I just found out there's no such thing as the real world...
it's just a lie you have to rise above"
My Mormon Translation: "If You're Happy and you know it, clap your hands!"
(that's the primary chorister talking)
I think we all need to make more time to be silly!
Don't take life or yourself so seriously!
"In all of living, have much of fun and laughter.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured!"- President Hinckley
My Mormon Translation: " Love is Spoken Here"
I am so grateful that I am blessed with 2 of the most beautiful of God's creations!!! Sometimes, in the hum-drum rush of everyday, it becomes so easy to forget how blessed I really am!
I so admire those mothers that are so meek, patient and soft spoken!
I pray I can be more like that!
My Mormon Translation: "Onward Christian Soldiers..."
I believe that now more than ever is the time to stand up and shout what we believe in. We can no longer afford to be complacent. Even if it is just a matter of teaching our children the importance of having a voice and figuring out, for themselves, what is important and what is worth fighting for...
My Mormon translation: "Let us oft speak kinds words to each other..."
This is the thing I need to work on more than anything else...Those who know me, know that I am very quick to offer criticism. If you need an honest opinion on something, I'm the one to call...(DEFINITELY- not always an honorable trait. My husband likes to tease me and say "honesty isn't ALWAYS the best policy...) BUT- I struggle when it comes to telling those that I care about, the things that I really appreciate and love them for.
SO- This is one goal, more than any other, I am making a concious effort to improve on... I am going to try to feature one person/ or group of people in my life that I really appreciate, on my blog each month!
