Much to her daddy's dismay, for the first nearly 2 years of the this little girl's life, she would not come within 10 feet of horses without screaming her head off in sheer terror (luckily Brian had his little cowpoke, and future rodeo queen, Kairi to ride the range with). But somehow this was just never enough for poor Brian's lonesome heart. On a recent camping trip with Brian's family, we decided to saddle Raegan up and help her conquer her fears once and for all- after all, as the good ole' duke would say "courage is being scared to death & saddlin' up anyway."So- on the horse mommy went, with Raegan following closely behind, kicking & screaming all the way. As I was holding my panic-stricken-daughter, the thought occurred to me to sing one of her favorite songs that Papa Larry has always sang to her... "GIDD-Y-UP horsey, on your way..." Much to my astonishment (and warming her daddy's once-lonesome heart), she started laughing hysterically! She was actually ENJOYING our little horse ride. She kept repeating "GIDD-Y-UP horsey, on your way!!!" Finally... Daddy has 2 little cowpokes to keep him busy.. ridin' the range!
